Diablo is a
successful franchise based on the concept of hack & slash and well it comes
down to killing allot of demons and other monsters like undead or corrupted
animals ect.
The games
plays itself in a fantasy world of sanctuary and has as background story the
eternal conflict of angels and demons in a war that won’t end until 1 side is
completely destroyed. Where the humans half angel and half demon are the only
to have ability to choose either side. the demons nearly succeed at in the
third game btw.
The essence
of the story is that a rogue angel(tired of the eternal conflict) and demon
create a world together which was called sanctuary where they can live in peace
free from the war that both sides deal with, however they discover that the
offspring’s of angels and demons or half-breeds have the potential to become
far more powerful then both sides so in the end 1 side tries to use them as
weapon and they kind of start fighting each other again.
The games continue
on this starting story and eventually both sides discover this world and its
potential resulting eventually in the first game.
The
original game has been released 16years ago in 1996, with the second game being
released in 2000 and last but not least the third game was released this year
in 2012 after 16years since the original game
When the
franchise turned 15years old blizzard celebrated this by sending birthday
greetings on its website by announcing the 15th anniversary of
diablo, the same birthday greetings can be expected to show up in another 5
years. A lot of probably missed this as
I don’t ever seem to remember reading about it, until I checked up on it. Of
course true fans will probably know in advance when the 20th
anniversary will be
