Starcraft

StarCraft was a real time strategy games released on march 31 in 1998, the game was released as a real time strategy game based in the distant future between 3 different races. The game was originally released on PC and a Mac version was released a year later in 1999, there was also a Nintendo 64 adaptation released in 2000. Which makes the original game 14year old and over the years many people have used the starcraft theme to send birthday greetings to others, some even showed up with a birthday cake with a theme based on the game.

Others then use the theme to send birthday greetings by cards of which you can find plenty of examples fairly easy, the game has become so iconic that even Google has a small gig when you type in zerg rush in the search engine.

The game itself is set in the 26^th century, where 3 species are fighting for domination of that specific region in the galaxy, better known as the Koprulu sector.

The 3 races fighting for domination each have their own abilities and strategy’s, 1 of the reasons this game is 1 of the best strategy games ever is that blizzard managed to create a fairly balanced game with 3 completely different sides. Where the Zerg tend to rely on numbers, the Protos tend to rely on high tech and the humans are somewhere in the middle.

The game relies on three different recourses to build your economy, crystals, gas and supplies (each race has its own system of supply, terrans got supply depots, protos use pillars and zerg need overlords), note that the second game added high yield crystals to the game with a yellow color.

the second game was released in July 2010 and is split in 3pieces, the original game and 2expansions that will continue the story with each expansions, when the game was released it had the Terran campaign and the idea is that with the next 2 expansions 2more campaigns will be added to the game 1 with each expansion to continiu the storyline. The first campaign was non-linear where you would be taking jobs for money and use that cash for new units and upgrades. The second campaign will level up the Queen of Blades throughout the missions and the third will feature the third race but it is unknown up to this point how that campaign will be done and what characters will be used.
