Warcraft

The first Warcraft game Orcs & humans was released in 199 which was the start of a successful franchise for blizzard, for almost 20years Warcraft has grown into a franchise that was and is played by millions of people around the world, with the last game being released exactly on the 10^th birthday greeting of the original game, World of Warcraft has since enjoyed 8 birthday greetings and even had a new expansion released recently called Mists of Pandaria.

The universe of Warcraft exists of several worlds, but most of the story is played out so far on the world of Azeroth, originally called Kalimdor before the sundering. Existing out of several continents and 2 major factions since the start it has always been Orcs vs. Humans but over the years several ally’s has been part of either side, from Elves, trolls, gnomes and several others, the list is growing most expansions so I will keep it to that. The latest addition being Panda’s, goblins and worgen have been part of the universe for a few birthday greetings now to.

The Orcs originate from a different world but have been stuck for quite a while after an invasion in the original game. Since then both sides fought many wars and only united in the worst possible times the only 1 that is really worth mentioning is vs. the burning legion. Considering they even battled each other to reach the Lich king first you can say the waters run pretty deep.

In 2 more birthday greetings the franchise will be 20years old, and only blizzard knows what they have planned for this fairly memorable achievement, but my guess is they will have another expansion ready by then for the current game. But it’s safe to say blizzard will do something, considering they launched wow on the 10^th anniversary you have to consider that it will be both the 20^th birthday greeting of the franchise but at the same time the 10^th birthday greetings for wow.
